Victor Perez, aka Dr. Lowkey
(Keys, Synthesizers)
Victor’s music career evolved during the era and evolution of early synthesizers and
sequencing devices. Lowkey adapted to this technology very naturally, a perfect fit for his
abstract and imaginative creative style. It is this instinctive approach toward music creation
and arrangement that has significantly influenced the overall sound of what is The Mad Mad
Scientists.
Greg Gonzalez
(Bass, Guitar)
Greg is one of the up and coming music prodigies in the Southwest region. A recognized and
successful band leader, Greg was invited to participate on “Human Element”. His bizarre
imagination, musical prowess and unusual use of effects processors is a perfect fit to the
Mad Mad Scientists abstract conceptual approach.
Kenneth (Kiff) Payne
(Guitar)
Kiff is our resident “Metal Head” and is somewhat an unlikely participant on “Human Element”.
We concluded that a musician with his background would help bring a twist to the project and
indeed it did. His contributions to the tracks “Still There”, “Rubato”, “Dirty Leaves In The
Woods” and “Kiffs Riff” are signature.
Marco Polo
(Trumpet)
Marco Polo comes from a trained musical background having played with the Navy band as
well as a four year stint with the group Malo, a band with two Top 40 hits. Polo’s improvisation
skills are evident on the last four tracks as he had mere minutes to review the tracks before
actual recording. His contribution to “Das Boot” helped make this track arguably one of the
best on the project, a collision of Herb Albert meets a chaotic Pink Floyd result.
Ron Cooper
(Guitar)
For our first cd, “The ’03 Project”, a last minute decision was made to incorporate several
tracks featuring Coop. These tracks were recorded with no intention of release, a result of an
impromptu jam session between Lowkey, King and Coop back in 2004. The lack of careful
presets of audio levels during tracking is evident as the end result is “rough” for a lack of a
better term, however, we feel the addition of these unpolished tracks contributes to the
reality of the moment, an MMS trademark.
