The Mad Mad Scientists;  an experiment of world music combining bold syncopated rhythms with ambient sound and textures. Mad Mad Scientists' creations are the unique result of multifaceted influences exerting their styles upon one another. The only prerequisite our projects require is an abstract mind.

The inception of our project began in 2003, initial tracks having been recorded in a very modest garage studio. Completion of our first album, "The '03 Project" and our second compilation "Human Element" was completed in early 2010. Both Cd's combined sport a total of thirty seven tracks...an interesting audio ride, indeed.

The "03 Project" utilizes a multi metered layering approach, an arrangement tactic initially conceived during the early 13th century. This album is the  result of hundreds of hours of carefully constructed and sequenced tracks.

"Human Element" is precisely the opposite approach. For this album, we invited select musicians to participate in "jam sessions". Ideas were never pre arranged and the entire project consists of First Takes Only! Throughout 2009, we occasionally layered additional synthesizer and string tracks over the initial core tracks. All of the compositions shaped into their current form during the mixing process resulting in a sound that could not possibly be conceived prior to tracking.

For those who think that it has "all been done before", we tend to have a varying opinion.
